Hello!

I’m trying to begin my new Xbox one S experience with a new gaming monitor. I don’t know the tech lingo, so I’m going to explain the best i can.

I have a Xbox one S. I’m going today to purchase a “ASUS 24-inch Full HD FreeSync Gaming Monitor [VG245H] ” today.

ASUS 24-inch Full HD FreeSync Gaming Monitor [VG245H] 1080p, 1ms Rapid Response Time, 75Hz, Dual HDMI, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free Display with Pivot, Tilt and Swivel, ASUS EyeCare https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGYM5H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nRvUAbJ503Y03

I’m asking what ALL do i need to purchase to get the best quality picture available.

Main point of this:

How do i connect the free sync technology?

Do i need a system unit for it to operate?

....or is it as simple as connecting the Xbox to the monitor with a HDMI cable, and *presto* best quality i can get?

Solution
Microsoft has announced future support for Freesync for the Xbox One S and X but I don't believe they've implemented it quite yet. Using it once it's been implemented should be as easy as plugging in an HDMI cable to the monitor and console. You shouldn't need to buy anything extra or do something weird to get it to work.
