Hello, I recently wanted to switch over from Win 10 to Win 7. When I go to Windows 7 install, my mouse and keyboard does not seem to work. I read online and it said Windows does not support USB 3.0 or above. I have tried adding this driver Intel_USB3.0_eXtensible_host_Controller_Driver into the boot.wim and install.wim via DISM GUI. I personally did not think this would work as I have AMD and not Intel. When I tried this my keyboard lights up if I press after Windows 7 install screen is there. I have also tried Win7-USB.30-Creator but it seems to stop here:

Number of images detected: 3
Mounting install.wim image:1
Adding USB 3.0 Drivers to install.wim image: 1
Unmounting and committing install.wim image: 1
Do you guys know hit to fix this or even know the right drivers I would have to use?

Corsair Vengeance 8x2 GB 3000Mhz

Solution
Try using NT Lite to slipstream the drivers. The thing is the drivers MUST be integrated into the OS install disk. The only way around that is if you had a USB 2.0 addin card that you could then use to plug in a USB Drive with the drivers.

Again I'm really going against downgrading. There is no support for windows 7 on Ryzen and no updates either.
1) Windows 7 doesn't Support USB 3.0 when installing. Now without doing some fancy work on slipstreaming the drives which can be a pain
2) ALL of Ryzen and Intel 7th Gen and up do NOT support anything but Windows 10 (Yea you can wiggle in there and install it but you will NOT get any updates and there are no official windows 7 drivers so stability might not be great.)

Honestly you are better off sticking with windows 10 on this new of a system.

I mean as in out of the box. I have had a lot of issues with USB 3.0 and windows 7 on PC's running 6th Gen Intels in the past and have not heard of anyone installing 7 on Ryzen as of yet.

But either way Ryzen CPU's don't have great driver support for 7 anyways because it wasn't design to run on them so who knows how stable it will be.

Best to open up a new thread but with ANY intel 7th gen or newer and ALL Ryzen's there is no windows 7 support. Yes there are ways to get windows installed but the drivers for them just aren't support and will likely fail or cause a lot of problems. Also you will NOT be able to get ANY updates from windows either.
