What is Causing my Games to Freeze?

I just recently overclocked my EVGA GTX 1080 TI FTW3 with a +50 MHz GPU clock offset and a 415 MHz Memory clock offset. I've pushed the voltage to the maximum safest possible allowed by NVIDIA at 1.093 V.

I also had just overclocked my i7-7700k to 4.85 GHz at 1.345 V as well.

I tested both overclock stabilities with Unigine Heaven and RealBench.

After trying to play the Witcher 3 a little bit, it was freezing (audio would continue and I can still hear myself moving the character around). I'd have to alt-tab out and close it via task bar.

Just asking then, what is most likely causing this instability?

Solution
The GPU overclock seems suspect to me, given that you could still hear the game audio despite it freezing. If the CPU overclock was unstable the whole system would have froze rather than just the game.

The overclock. Sometimes that happens. Where like the graphics driver won't really like you that much when doing 3d things with a big overclock but then go back to 2d perfectly fine. For short. You have your overclock too high.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I do believe it was the GPU, but after lowering the OC, media began stuttering/lagging - ingame and while watching YouTube videos.

But at the very least, my games seem to run properly now (save for said stuttering/lagging).
