Which Graphics Card to buy?

I would like to upgrade my GTX 760 to a new graphics card, but which one? (I'm in Australia) I am indecisive between the GTX 980 4GB ($380) and the GTX 1060 6GB($410) for pubg, overwatch, fortnite, forza motorsport 7 and horizon 3 (both the cards are from cex with 24 month warranties). I would like to play these games at med-ultra settings at 1080p and maybe 1440p. I have seen that the 980 outperforms the 1060 by a tiny margin but would it be better to get the newer card with more vram?
My system specs are

  • i7-2600
    Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3R rev1.0
    24GB 1666MHz Ram
    Gigabyte Windforce GTX 760 2GB
    256GB SSD
    1TB HDD
    PC Power & Cooling Silencer MkIII 1200W
    NZXT S340

The Paladin
GTX 980 is a better card than the 1060 6GB, and for 380$ I would vote that up quick.... but if you have the 700$ for a video card then get the 1070 instead.

I would honestly go with a GTX100 6GB, because:

Even though the performance (1060 vs 980) is very close to each other, a GTX1060 is a newer card, it is built with newer technology (16nm vs 28nm), uses less power and i suppose it's longevity will be slightly longer (like better driver support).

Despite these facts, performance-wise these cards should perform +- the same.

I can get the gtx 1060 for $30 more than the gtx 980
