Auto overclock 8700k with air tower cooler to 5.0 MHz?

Hi guys.

I just bought the i7 8700k and Asus Z370a motherboard.
I´m using a pretty massive air tower cooler.
Now, I have no idea about overclocking so I used the ezy-overclock wizard in the BIOS and didn´t touch anything else.
I can see in CPU-Z that the core speed is now just above 5 MHz with a bus speed of 103 and the memory is running at 4426 MHz (corsair DDR4 2666MHz)
This is all much higher than what I expected and I´m a little worried that it´s too much for an air cooler.
Thoughts? Thanks!

Hi grproductions,

The memory frequency read, 4426 MHz, it the uncore/cache frequency (it's another part of the cpu with the différent cache levels). It's totally independant with the ram memory.

It's a"good" start to have BUT, as you may have read it, auto overclock always overvolt which leads to higher temps etc etc...
So, what is the voltage applied?

My advice is to check your voltage, then you go to bios and decrease voltage and check for stability until voltage can't be lowered.

Hope it helps. You can MP if you want.
