I think it's horrible that mining has basically ruin building a pc because everything has skyrocketed in prices

If you should, get the GTX1050Ti 4GB as the absolute minimum but there are avenues opening up where prices for GTX1060's are dropping.

The whole crypto market is crashing, buying new cards for mining isn't really profitable anymore (it would take over a year to hit ROI with most cards).
Now the only thing holding the prices up are greedy retailers.
I think it's worth to wait at this point.

With at least a dozen currencies about to come under ASIC fire later this year and more regulatory pressure likely to affect crypto over time, the ROI on GPU-mining for new GPU miners might be never at this point.
