Fast speedtest, slow downloads

About 3 weeks ago my internet took a nose dive and went from downloading to over 80Mbps down to only 26Mbps. I contacted my ISP they told me since it is showing that it's fast on their end they can't help me and basically told me to buzz off. I have a Netgear AC1450 router. So far I have factory reset my router and done the setup wizard past that I have touched nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

You could try and update your routers firmware to the latest revision but then again, I've been seeing a lot of people complain and find out that they've been throttled to get those sort of speeds. Where are you located and who is your provider? If you can replicate the issue both connected directly to your ISP(sans any routers) and then wirelessly, then you can have them come over and see the issue.

Sorry I should have mentioned. Yeah I tried checking the firmware as well and it was up to date. I am in Alaska so the choices are minimal so I have GCI. I called the tech support and they asked me to connect to the modem directly and check the speed with their speed test. I did so and it came back at around 700 Mbps and they guy told me since it's not on their end they can't/won't do anything to help me.

Is this wired directly to the router, or WiFi?

That part would be explaining my downloads for WiFi. Sadly my wired connection is somehow worse and it jumps frequently as well from bad to worse.
