I wanted to know what the best motherboard and cpu for gaming would be that is compatible with ddr3 ram. Because i already have gpu and dont want to buy more ram.
My current specs:
Cpu: amd a10 6800k
Motherboard: asus a88x-pro
Ram: g-skill ripjaws 16gb 1600mhz 4x (4gb)
Gpu: msi gaming x 1060 6gb

Solution
Alas, the top DDR3-compatible 4790K CPUs that most people want to avoid buying new RAM now cost $397 on Amazon for this very reason...

Keep your GPU, but, you really don't want to spend $100 extra on a CPU to avoid spending $90 extra on RAM :(

Unfortunately nothing that is new will support what you currently have since the Ryzen platform as well as the 6th, 7th and 8th gen of processors by Intel all need DDR4 ram. You can migrate the GPU but then again the PSU's make and model and it's age will come into question.

You could migrate to a second hand Z87/Z97 + Haswell/Haswell refresh i5/i7 system and retain your DDR3 rams but that will net you some leeway.
