I got the corsair HS50 and its a great headset for the price but when I go to use the mic my voice seems to be quiet even when I turn the mic volume up. Also, the microphone picks up everything from the headset, every tap on the headset, every shift on my head, and even everything I'm hearing like music or game sound and it picks it up clearly. I have tried multiple things I have seen online but nothing has worked well so far. I use an audio technica usb adapter with it if it helps. Suggestions?

In sound (in control panel, hardware and sound), after you open it, go to recording tab, right click on open field and show hidden devices, or if its unhidden is the Stereo Mix Ticked (or set as default or your microphone)?

In Microphone optoins if you have Listen tab untick "Listen to this device", disable "Disable all sound effects" in enhacements tab,
If all doesnt work, in last tab "Advanced" restore default.

Now if you are still having trouble, which motherboard/laptop you have?

Also check in listen tab (for microphone that it isnt actually muted).

Did you try other headset/microphone?

I tried all of these and it didn't work (didn't find "Stereo Mix Ticked"). I'm not sure what motherboard, I just know its FM2 and from MSI. The mic isn't muted it picks things up but its hard at picking up what I'm saying and it picks up everything that comes out the ear cups even though people around me can't hear a thing. All my other headsets didn't have this problem and if it did it may have lasted a day

The headphone jack is hard to insert into the adapter for the double output of the headphone. When it's plugged in, you do not have to see the connector. To connect it you really have to press hard. When the cable is badly connected, the plugs jacks are shifted that's why the sound that comes from your computer goes into the jack of the microphone. I had this problem and I put one afternoon to find the source of the problem. I hope to have helped you and sorry for my English, I'm french .
