I have more than capable hardware to play games without stuttering. I run into issues when watching a video on my second monitor. My games, doesn't matter the title, will stutter profusely. My framerate will go from 100 down to 20 and everywhere in between very rapidly while videos are being played. Once the video is paused my framerate returns to normal and I have no issues. This issue occurs whether the game is in full screen or windowed borderless and the video is windowed or full screen. Video issues are both through my browser and videos downloaded on my PC. My main display is 3440x1440 @ 100Hz and my second monitor is 4k @ 60Hz. The video plays fine while games are being played, but the game itself stuttered. My GPUs performance never go above 90% during this time and my CPU never goes above 50%. I've tried multiple things to fix this issue to no avail:

  • Turning off hardware acceleration
    Using different internet browsers
Disabling Nvidia Shadow Play (have yet to uninstall GeForce Experience)
    Enabling Single display performance mode
Running games and videos in windowed mode
    Disabling GSYNC
    Disabling transparency in Windows

Any help would be much appreciated. I've been plagued with this issue for months and it's becoming intolerable. I'm hoping the issue isn't GeForce Experience due to it's functionality, limited as it may be. I will attempt to uninstall it later tonight and update with my findings.

Uninstalled and then reinstalled GeForce Experience and the issue seems to have been fixed.

UPDATE: Issue seems to have come back after having GeForce Experience uninstalled. This issue is getting pretty annoying
