Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by and reading into this problem of mine I have been trying to figure out for very long time and it is really bugging me.

My CPU with Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 is supposed to go up to 4.5 Ghz on two cores. The max frequency is only 4.0, it shouldnt be like this. I remember seeing 4.5 while running the game PUBG and many other programs, I havent seen that number since my PC crashed a while back when I first built my PC. Unsure what cause the crash but things havent been the same since.

Ive tried everything! Multiple BIOS resets and updates along with many other drivers, changing any possible settings.

RMA'd the CPU.
RMA'd the MOBO (Couldnt duplicate the issue, is what they noted and sent back. Not sure if they did anything)
Clean Windows 10 install

And here I sit with what feels like a fresh naked PC and still the issue. I need help, Am ready to go over everything again until I get my PC performance back.

After I just recieved my mobo, got it all back together with a fresh install of windows 10. Installed Corsair CUE, CPUZ and Intel Exterme Tuning Utility. Ran the benchmark and the max frequency was 4.1 Ghz at 63*C

Everytime I reinstall windows I always have an issue updating a chipset driver. KabyLake PCI Express Root Port #10 - A2B1

I wonder is this is related to my issue, Ive opened threads on both intel and ASUS side and it ends up just RMAing the hardware and still doesnt fix anything.

cpu multiplier/v-core set to auto?

XMP on, mem clock to appropriate speed?

Power plan within WIndows set to Balanced? (SOme recommend setting it to performance, but, I've never found the reason/need for sitting locked at 4.5 GHz to read news/THF, etc., when 'Balanced' ramps up clock speed instantly during gaming/heavy loads....
MCE mode (in BIOS) - enabled?

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Yes CPU Multiplier/Ratio is set to Auto.
XMP isnt currently enabled yet. (I think I read somewhere it changes with the C States and that can affect Turbo Boost sometimes)
I wasnt able to find the MCE Option in my BIOS, can you explain a little more about it?
(EDIT: I have found the MultiCore Enhancement and it is set to Auto) Either Auto or Disabled
Changed to Balanced from Performance Power settings.

This CPU is supposed to Boost up to 4.3 on all cores and 4.5 on two cores. Everything is set to auto but I keep seeing 4000 Mhz everywhere in BIOS which is odd because base is 3.6 with up to 4.3 but it just caps at 4 Ghz, kind of a random number.

Moved my MOBO Jumper to more voltage option and enabled an option to give CPU more power as well and nothing.

No, the 7820X is supposed to turbo to 4GHz all cores, and 4.3GHz on two cores. 4.5GHz is Turbo Boost 3.0, and it's possible that you'd have to enable the technology in the BIOS. It depends on the motherboard, so that might be the problem.

I do have Intel Turbo Boost Technology enabled in BIOS and yes it is supported.

According to the website, Max Turbo Boost is 4.30 Ghz (All Cores) and Intel Turbo Boost Technology 3.0 Max Turbo Frequency is 4.50 Ghz (Two Cores).

3.0?

No, 4.3 is the two core boost. 4.0 is the all core boost. 4.5GHz is the Turbo Boost 3.0 two core boost.

4.3GHz should be a normal boost on two cores at stock. Try settings Windows to high performance and see if it boosts to 4.3GHz on one core. Also, check if Turbo Boost 3.0 is enabled cause that might be a motherboard thing for the 4.5GHz boost.

Your motherboard also isn't that good. You should've sprung for the XE version of your motherboard at least. I'd recommend de lidding as well.

I have everything up to date and enabled to see 4.3 or 4.5 but have not seen them in a long time.

Yea, not sure how I chose this Mobo but maybe some more research wouldve helped. All good though, we'll make this work.
