Hi guys, been looking online and on this forum already, can't find a solution to this problem.
I just bought a new rig yesterday
Cpu: Intel 8700K 3.7ghz
Ram: 32GB kingston
Video Card: Zotac Nvidia 1080TI
Monitor: LG 34 inch ultra wide 144hz

I thought that with these specs I should be at least getting above 100 fps on all games? I tried dota on ultra with roughly 90 FPS, overwatch with 40-60fps running ultra.

Vsync turned off on both nvidia control panel and in-game. What am i doing wrong? This is so frustrating, I literally just picked up the pc yesterday. PLS HELP MEEE

Make sure you have the latest DirectX installed and perform a clean install of the latest nVidia drivers. Check to see what other programs are running in the background(Task Manager) and close anything you don't need running. If you are using 3rd party anti-virus/firewall, check to see if there's a "Game Mode" setting and/or temporarily disable them while you're gaming.

Run a few benchmarks. I only have 8GB of RAM and a budget 120GB SSD. I think those hurt my score. I also have a 4690K which is just now starting to show its first grey hairs. That's also lowering my score.

You can compare your scores with others online. You need to make sure all specs. are identical. Still there will be a margin of error due to OC's and regular inconsistencies. Closing all background programs is a good idea. I'd first try Superposition. My PC scored a 6039

which is a little on the low side. It also scored a 61**(can't recall) with a mild OC to the CPU and GPU.

Firestrike is another one.

Userbench

is yet another test I use. When I was having a driver issue MSI AB let me know and I then confirmed that with UserBench

.

Benchmarks and stress tests run the exact same way every time. Games don't and they can have their own issues not caused by your hardware or software.
