Hello all,
I bought an oldschool p5p41t le due to its max ram size supports more than my very old p5vd2-mx
Installed everything fine, my main aim was built a reliable specs with low price. Anyways as i power up it, observed my cpu (core 2 quad q6600, which was working good with p5vd2-mx even it wasnt listed supported products in asus official website) temperature increases immediately and makes pc shutdown. But i never stop trying to make it work reset BIOS, updated BIOS, connected cpu cooler on PSU directly but nothing changed. Then i try with core 2 duo e6300 temperatures were normal windows booted and never get too high temperatures. How can i make q6600 work with normal temperatures ?
Specs
Asus p5p41t le
4 gb 1066 mhz kingston ram
Sapphire radeon hd4850
1tb wd Hdd
Stock cooler, which is used fine before on asus p5vd2-mx
Intel core 2 quad q6600
Thermal paste refreshed as i montage new board.

Cpu fan was constantly works around 1800~ rpm even temperature hits 100C, connecting directly Psu didnt change anything. Cpu used normally on p5vd2-mx around 6-7 months with the same cooler and the same PSU.

Desperately waiting for advices,

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Hint: The Q2D 6300 (65 W TDP) uses much less power than the C2Q 6600 (95-105 W TDP)
The p5p41t le should be able to use the C2Q 6600 all right.

*All* of this hardware is old, the "new" MoBo is possibly bought via ebay or used, right?

Perhaps:
- the fan didn't work (unlikely, as i assume, you had a look at it)
- there is a problem with your MoBo (possible, i.e. the temp not detected correctly)
- you did an error when mounting the cooler on the CPU (bad heat-transfer)
- a pin on the socket broke, which only shows with the C2Q

Try the setup on your old configuration first, to make sure, no component got damaged while re-building the machine.
After checking pins on the new socket, try mounting a different cooler first.

Yes its used one but came in great condition, the thing that confuses me both e6300 and q6600 was working on p5vd2-mx with no problem. On the other hand e6300 is working on p5p41t-le. I boot into windows managed to install chipset and LAN drivers, deleted catalyst driver and heat was never reached more then 60 degrees during this processes and finally i shut it down by myself to install q6600 again. Checked fan it seems working same way as e6300 was in use. As i mentioned above tried mobo 4pin cpu_fan and directly to psu also. Im planning to use an aftermarket cooler but i dont wanna get through with same situation like shutdown after i bought new one. I used same cooling system and same case with that CPU with no problem on p5vd2-mx, played cs:go, league of legends, empire total war etc. only mobo changed and im facing that weird situation.
Thanks for quick answer by the way.

Usually the CPUs are not the problem, but the MoBo, and i can tell, as i built over 40 Socket 775 systems at home.
The q6600 is a good cpu, and one of the most famous, most compatible for socket 775, and most reliable one. I have two...
Nowadays, as you own DDR3, i'm not sure if I'd recommend buying a new Socket 775 board (which do exist, all from ASRock, for about or under GBP 60), but the 6300 is definitely not up to the gaming task you desire, right?

Yes e6300 was not good enough to play games i desire, thats why i get a q6600 one year ago. I know all components are quite old according to recent system builts, But i really like doing that i mean playing current games such as LoL and CS:GO with old systems, While i decide that mobo it has max ram size 8 gb and that was seemed compatible my q6600 officially. I was planning to get newer Graphics card to play games in low and medium settings on recent games if i succesfully get stable pc right now.

Planning to do a clean install windows 7 with e6300 then try q6600 again then i will get a cooler i guess. Because i had a working stable system as i upgraded to q6600 and just replaced with no problem on my older MB, I know its necessary to clean install after motherboard changed but it shutting down without booting any OS. I always enter to BIOS hardware monitor to watch temp it is increasing quickly around 80-100 degrees and shutting down, stock cooler doesnt rotate relatively as temp rising. Constant 1800 rpm.

Installing windows didn't change anything but i saw it succesfully recognized by windows then shutdown.

Anyways i went store and get one Zalman Performa, cleaned old thermal paste and install the new cooler on motherboard, then it worked great now system launched and installing updates for 2 hours. Watched system temperature on windows never get overheat, avarage temperature is 45-50 degrees. I am glad that it worked. Thank you for your advice and hint ragnar-gd.
Yet the mistery is, how it managed to run for months with same components, which i still do not understand that.
Anyways thank you again for help mate.
