i5 8400 1070 vs i5 8600k 1060

Solution
@ Zova: Your needs conflict somewhat; Maximum gaming needs a fast GPU and decent CPU while the rendering/multitasking will tend to need more CPU and RAM with the GPU taking a less prominent part.
Essentially, you need to decide where the bulk of the budget needs to go.
Maximum gaming will come from the i5 8400/GTX1070, while you'll get better rendering out of the i5 8600K/GTX1060 system. As has been said, either should really be customised with more memory and an SSD would be a useful if not must have addition.

If you can or will build the system yourself, WildCard999 comes up with a very good system for the cash but it's geared towards multitasking and rendering rather than maximum gaming performance.

This one is geared towards...

WildCard999

Third option, 8700 (6 cores/12 threads for rendering), 16gb DDR4 & the GTX 1060 6gb, also has a SSD unlike the builds you posted above.

The build in the first link shafts you on the cooler and ram(somewhat). There's a few air coolers that perform better for cheaper, and without the hassle of an AIO. As for the ram, 16gb is recommended, 8gb is the minimum now - only a handful of titles at the moment would 'bottleneck' with 8gb.

The second link: it's the 8gb of ram again.
The WildCard999 option is better.

This one is geared towards maximum gaming at the cost of some loss of rendering:

One final point: ANY of the systems mentioned here will do the job well, don't think picking one over another will turn your gaming into a slideshow or add hours to rendering times, it won't.
