I want to connect my gaming pc to my streaming pc so I can use them both whilst streaming. I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jROntrxj5-E&t=341s and I got confused a bit. I think i'm doing everything right but apparently i'm not. When I change the ip addresses in the network settings like the video asks, but it still says no internet connection.

I can answer any questions people may need to help.

Thank you.

Did you buy a cross over cable, it's wires are in a different order than patch cables and one of your computers is going to need to NICs? I don't see why you would really need that if you can just plug them both into a switch.

What is your current setup? An i7 should be able to keep up with a software encode. This is probably only really needed if you are gaming at a super hi res and wanting to encode to a low res or multiple res. A capture card is going to be a lot better if you have gotten to the point of needing this.
