Solution
Yes, there will be a bottleneck somewhere.

First of all, a GTX580 needs a 6 and an 8 pin connector that is usually found on a 600w psu.
Can you provide a link to your particular evga 500w unit?
Some are better than others.

Likely, your limitation will be the very slow single thread core speeds of the QX9650. It is about half the capability of a modern $80 processor.

If you have the parts, go ahead and see how you do.
If you are buying parts go with something more modern.

what's the best GPU i can get for Core 2 Extreme QX9650 without bottlenecking?
Thanks

Do you own the gtx580? My experience with newer graphic card is about 50% in fps that I would’ve gotten from a more recent processor, I have a q9550, I paired it with a r9 380, after my system upgrade to 6600k I got about double the fps, I have also paired the q9550 with a rx580, fps is about half too. However there is some random stutter with these old cpu, if u want to get the best out of these cpu, oc it to 3.4-3.8 range, they can probably run a 1030-1050ti card okay for games in modern games, I was able to play pubg at 1080 mh very low for about 55 ish fps, with lowes in the 30 fps. Definitely playable, you just have to tweak the visuals. As for gpu goes, I would say don’t spend over $150 in graphics card ( old or new ) and oc the chip to 3.4-3.8 range.
