Task manager reports 2 of 4 RAM slots used, but I can only see 2

I have a gaming laptop (GL552VW) and I want to add more RAM into it. In the asus webpage it says it is upgradable up to 16 gigs of RAM and 8 gigs by default. Same goes with task manager, it says 2 of 4 RAM slots used, but I opened my laptop I only see 2 slots and they are used, those 2 slots have 4 gigs in each which adds up to 8 gigs. My question is where are the two other empty slots or is task manager lying?

Solution
While Skylake and the HM170 chipset can support 4 slots, that does not mean all of them are wired up, especially in laptops where space is at a premium.

Your laptop has two slots that support 16GB sticks in each for a maximum of 32GB. This is exactly half the RAM that a desktop Skylake board with 4 slots can use.
