High idling temp

Hi, i bought a Galax 1070 Ti EXOC few months ago. During idling the temp will hover around 48-50. The GPU fan will only start spinning when the temp is 43 and above, so I'm assuming that the normal idling temp should be lower (based on reviews also). I tried opening the TG panel and front panel to eliminate the airflow factor but the temp is still the same. Ambient temp is around 26-27.

Is this completely normal?

Yes humidity can cause that. It’s is also very dangerous for a computer as you risk having water condensate on your pc which will then fry the entire computer. But as for that 50c idle temp I’m really at a lose here. I have run my pc at a ambient temp of 35c and it only ever idles at mabey 50 then but never at 27. All I could suggest to you is get some climate control in your room. If you can emiminate the hot weather and humidity you will definatly see some results.

Yeah it does seem a bit high. But looking at the steps you have taken to cool it down with no avail it mabey a program error. Try and get the GPU temps off different programs and see that happens. Also clean out your computer. Not just your GPU, it’s supprising how much heat dust can retain.

Dust is not a problem, because i bought a new case and just rebuilt the pc. As for different programs, galax xtreme tuner, nzxt cam, and msi afterburner are showing the same value. So maybe its not the problem. I'm thinking of using conductonaut but that would void the warranty.

On a related note, does ambient humidity affect the temps in any way? Where i live the humidity is high.
