Hey, will this combo be okay for gaming and 4K raw editing. The framerate will be locked to 100hz because of my ultra wide monitor. Or should i go with the 8700K and push the oc to 5Ghz or a x299 build. I know the x399 and the x299 are not build for gaming, i dont wont to have two computers. Just one that can a little of both worlds

AMD 1950X oc
3200Mhz
GTX 1080TI

I would say so, gigabyte aorus gaming 5 or 7 look the boards to suit your needs, You'll lose the use of 2 sata slots & the x4 full length pci express slot with a pair of m2 nvme drives installed but that's going to be the same (or worse) on any compatible board.
The nvme drives run off the 8 lanes independent of the 16 lanes on the gpu slots.

Coffee lake has 24 lanes total ,8 chipset,16 expansion.

So 2 nvme drives would run 4/4 off the chipset, 1080ti & decklink would run 8/8 off the expansion slots.

I don't see any real degradation performance wise there in all honesty.
