Hello,
I'm upgrading my PC, details below.

Old PC
i7 4790k
MSI Gaming 7 Motherboard
Nvidia GTX 1080
DDR 3
1 ssd with windows 10 Home premium installed on it
2 HDD's for game and software storage etc

I'm upgrading to
i7 8700k
MSI Z370 M5 atx
DDR4
Staying on windows 10 home premium

So i need some advice about how to deal with the windows 10 reinstall.
I've been told i can create a flashdrive for windows 10 before i change any parts and when the reinstall is needed (If needed) then i can use this flashdrive to help with the process, I'm just wondering if this is correct or if a reinstall is even needed.

What size usb/flashdrive will be big enough ?

Also will i have any problems when i plug back in the storage drives after i have reinstalled windows10, the storage i hope to not have to wipe.
But my main worry is the issue of windows 10 maybe not working after i have changed parts.

Sorry for the long question but i wanted to put my parts in with the question to help with any advice i might recieve.

Thank you for reading this and any help i get.

Solution
When I switched out my mobo, my windows was inactivated as each Windows is tied to the motherboard, switch it out and Windows recognizes it as a new computer. I was using the same storage as before. I did not do any uninstalling or removing any programs or anything. Just switched out the mobo.

If you are doing the same thing as me, all I did was re-input my windows license key and it was activated again. It may be different for you.

For the size of the USB, any 8 to 16 gb drive should be good enough as long as it is clean. I doubt you should have any problems.
