Hi all, it seems to be hard to find a simple 2.5 SATA III adapter that takes NVMe SSD M.2, and I want to make sure I get the right thing. Didn't think it would be so hard to find. I need a standard adapter that fits in a standard 2.5" SATA III chassis. What would you recommend? Just need simple and reliable. If I can't find one I'll need to return the drive. I know I won't be taking advantage of the NVMe speed by plugging it into SATA III, but I don't need the extra speed, and it was a truly great price on a Samsung PM960 that I didn't research properly before buying. Lesson learned. Thanks for any help!

I think looking for an "enclosure" to mount it internally is the wrong approach.

You should instead be looking for an "adapter" which allows you to install it in a regular drive bay- - - something like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-2-5in-SATA-Adapter-Converter/dp/B00ITJ7U20/ref=sr_1_1/258-0965465-7458102?ie=UTF8&qid=1522738718&sr=8-1&keywords=sata+to+m2+adapter&dpID=51TF2p0t%252BfL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

I'm not saying that adapter is compatible for your requirements, just showing you the type of thing you should be looking for.

Thanks Phillip. Yes you're right -- I just changed my post to reflect that.

Do you know if one exists that supports NVMe? Sorry, I'm new to the NVMe thing.
