Hello

Was wondering if someone could help out and put my mind at rest with a concern of mine.

My wife went and surprised me with a desktop for my bday which is just awsome.

But i am concerned with OC the cpu with the 750w psu. I've tried the online psu calculators but can't get the right info.

Desktop:

Corsair carbide 540 high airflow case

Intel core i5 8600k cpu

Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance LED CMU16GX4M2C3200C16R 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 RAM

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 G1 gpu

Corsair HX750i 750w 80 plus platinum psu

Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler

Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 500gb

x5 Corsair ML140 pro LED Mag-Lev fans

WD 2tb blue harddrive

ASUS PG348Q ROG swift 34inch 100hz g-sync ips Gaming Monitor

Would the 750w psu be enough for a OC or am i stressing for nothing

or

do i need to upgrade to a 850w or more before i can OC???

Thank you in advance

Great. Thus, to answer your original question, 750W should be plenty. If you OC both GPU and CPU, it should be a balanced load on the PSU. But either way, the 750W should be enough for an OC.

Run it as in? Do you have the PC already? This means that either you have a 7600k with that motherboard or an 8600k with a Z370 motherboard. An 8th Gen chip is not compatible with a Z270 chipset mobo, period.

As for OC, I think the 750W should be enough. It should be a balanced load on the PSU.

If this is running, then something is not what is shown in the list. Download and run CPU-Z, which should give you full information on what specific motherbboard and CPU you actually have.
