Would crossfiring r9 390s make much sense?

I'm currently running a build with an i5 4690k and an r9 390. Would it make much of an improvement to purchase another r9 390 to run them in crossfire?

Solution
Unless you can get a really good deal on an R9 390, i wouldn't recommend it. It's always better to go 1x stronger card than 2x weaker (not saying the 390 is a weak card though). In the current market, i'd expect most R9 390 to be heavily overpriced anyway. Crossfire 390s will use a considerable amount of power in return for the performance it would offer and how much performance it gives you will be heavily dependant on whether or not the games you play are optimised for Crossfire, some might not be at all... I'd suggest looking into an upgrade instead. Something like a GTX 1080 / RX Vega 64 would be a decent upgrade. But be wary the current GPU market which is still slowly coming back down. Hope this helps! :)

I suppose if you got one for free. You could get some small gains. Considering what they sell for. It would make more sense to run a single GeForce GTX 1070. As it would be faster and use a whole lot less power.

If you were looking to buy one. You could sell the one you had. Add the budget for the second one and buy a new GTX 1070. If you had both. Sell them both for the same outcome.
