My lenovo laptop which has preinstalled win 10 was running very slow...so I tried replacing 1tb hdd with samsung 120 ssd(which I already have) and to transfer the c drives and factory reset data
I tried AOMEI partition assistant software with an option to transfer os from hdd to ssd..at first It gave an error that drive size of hdd should be <= sdd drive. So I compressed os drive of hdd from ~450 to 90gb with the help of same software.
after that when I tried to transfer the os..system rebooted and failed to load even the reset is not working ( after ~28% if starts undoing changes and after that it says there was problem restarting your pc.no changes were made)

what should I do?
Thank you in advance

I think the problem is....that you compressed the drive.

If I'm reading this right....you compressed the drive...then transferred it. You cannot do this.

What I would do is...do a clean install of windows on the SSD...then attach the HDD and uncompress it and get whatever you need off it.

I'm familiar with Aomei. When you shrunk the volume to 90 GB....was there less than 90 GB of data in that volume to begin with? If there was more...you would have problems.

If not....it sounds like you did it right but I've never used the "transfer OS" feature....I usually transfer the whole drive. So maybe there is something amiss with that feature. Not sure.
