Black screen crash, computer still powered on and fans still running.

Within the last 3 days i experienced 2 separate instances where my PC black screen 'crashed' completely unresponsive but still powered and with fans running at full speed. I also had one blue screen during this period. This is a recent issue, my PC still posts is and otherwise running normally and ive mad no changes either hardware or software wise.

I suspect this would be a motherboard related issue as this would make the most sense but looking for some help troubleshooting.

I had a similar problem and after trying the obvious (drivers, reseating, etc) I solved it by taking my tower to the gas station and blowing out the dust from the PSU and using different plugs for the GPUs power connectors (my PSU is modular). After this it was fine!!

I honestly believe it was shorting out due to dust and recommend anyone with this problem start by cleaning their psu with high pressure air.
