got a problem i've never had before. First system specs are (this is not the system in the sig below)
CPU i7-4790(non-k)
Mobo Asus Z97M-Plus
samsung 950 nvme SSD
Windows 7 x64
No dedicated graphics card
seasonic 450 PSU
LG ODD
Anti-virus/malware Emsisoft
This particular computer has been extremely stable over 3 years. I keep it caught up on Windows updates, and periodically i install a cloned SSD to let it catch up on those updates
today i did exactly that, and it booted fine, i installed a couple of updates on UPS Worldship and Quickbooks, and emsisoft alerted me it had downloaded a new version of it's anti-virus/malware sorftware and system had to restart for it to install. It had done that on the main OS drive a week or so ago with no issue, so i let it restart,
Only it wouldn't go past the POST. It will display the post screen for maybe 15 seconds, then flash the screen black and come back to the POST screen.
I've let it sit for 1 hour and it will not load windows, i've hit F2 or delete button and it will not take me into BIOS. I've turned computer off, held the power button down for 30 seconds, and walked away for 30 minutes, same result
As i keep the dvd drive set as the first boot device in BIOS, i dropped in my EaseUS emergency disk, as it has a "repair MBR" utility in it's "toolbox" - but it won't load the linux emergency OS - tried another emergency disk (Macrium) and same result, and same with the windows 7 repair disk i have. It appears to be an issue in BIOS but i have no idea how to get into bios to reflash it
Any suggestions, tricks or prayers you guys know?
