Hi,

I peeled off the "PLEASE PEEL OFF LABEL BEFORE YOU USE IT" label on the cooler master 212 evo and then I had go eat which means I removed the label and let the heatsink sit there for like a day already. I was wondering if it is any important ?

Solution
A lot of heat sinks come with pre-applied thermal paste and it is protected with a plastic label. The plastic label is there to protect the thermal paste. This is why a tutorial will say to take it off before you put it on so you don't accidentally remove the thermal paste. Since the past is not pre-applied, then there is nothing to really protect. It is just a metal plate.
No, you just don't want to leave the label on before you apply it.

Did it have thermal paste pre-applied? If it did, I would probably remove the thermal past with isopropyl alcohol and get some more thermal past because it has probably cured some over a day. If there was no thermal paste pre-applied, then you have nothing to worry about.

The problem is because I've saw some tutorials and they all said to apply it to the motherboard right after you peel off the label (which makes me wonder because I peeled off the label and left it there for already a day). It didn't come with thermal paste pre-applied!

Just make sure the base of the heat sink is spotless and shinny clean. The purpose of the sticker was to make sure that it stayed clean.

I used the Cooler Master 212 EVO on my old computer. An i5-2500k overclocked and it was a great cooler.
