Mainboard - MSI A88X-G41 PC Mate
So I decided to overclock my CPU to get a performance boost in CSGO, the difference between max and minimum graphical settings I benchmarked to be only 5FPS so I assume overclocking the GPU won't give me a noticeable performance increase in that game, right?
So I went in AMD Overdrive and disabled turbo, increased core multiplier from 37x to 42x, ran stability test for just 1 minute and decided to increase it to 45x before running a longer stability test. Am I correct that just increasing the multiplier without increasing the voltage can't damage the CPU? Anyway as soon as I applied 45x I got BSOD, no worries, restart the PC and go to overdrive again, disable turbo and... BSOD as soon as I turned off turbo. Does this mean that I'm just fucked and can't overclock this unit?

Solution
Each time you increase the multiplier you are creating a higher core frequency. You should only do so in small increments and you should stress for at least as long as it takes for the temps to settle.

Double check what settings you have when you turn turbo off. It's possible they are still at 45?

Anyway, take it slow and in small steps, monitor temps.
