I like to edit a lot using vegas pro 13 and it kills me to always see a laggy video preview, I've got an RX 480 as my gpu and i7-7700k as my cpu. In order to improve the video preview performance what should I upgrade, the cpu or gpu? BTW, I use a lot of plug-ins and effects such as twixtor (smooth slow motion for 30 fps vids), and a lot of magic bullet looks and color correction etc. I use a crap load of effects and I don't wanna list them all, but you get the point. I always want my video preview to be always at "best-full". If I really use lots of effects I sometimes put it to"draft-quarter" which hurts me because the quality is pretty damn bad and blurry as hell. I assume you all know the "video preview" that I'm talking about, it's not the image being displayed on the monitor but the built-in video preview for vegas pro

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Solution
It depends on the rendering. If its video rendering that you have edited then it would go CPU, RAM, GPU. If it was more like 3DS Max stuff it would go CPU, GPU, RAM
