Hey there! So I recently had an issue with my laptop, it wouldn't boot. So I removed the cmos battery. But it won't go back in. It does boot again, so not really a very big issue. But every time I remove my battery (not cmos) it resets the date and time and I have to reïnstall windows because windows boot manager is missing. I put a bit of electrical tape over it (black tape), but it still keeps on getting the same issues. Also sometimes it turns itself on when i shut it down so I have to remove the battery. My laptop is an asus k53sc-sx404v

I know, but usually there's a windows boot manager option, which is not there once I remove the battery. If I set the boot option to the hdd first it's stuck at a flickering -. I'm right now checking for damage around the battery, will tell you the results in a few minutes

Some clip that should be on top of it is gone, most likely the reason. The clip is back on there (done with some black electrical tape) and it still doesn't work properly. I have actually found a way to fix it, I had to boot in the windows install usb, hit repair this computer and then go to windows 10. That way it adds the boot manager back. Not the best way, but it works. If there's a better solution, please let me know.

gonna try to solder the clip back first, just read that could also help. It's quite late in Europe time so I'm not gonna try it right now, but will do it tomorrow and get an update about it ;)
Update: it's way better. Sometimes it still doesn't work but most of the time it does.
