Im moving my storage 2TB hard drive from my old pc to my new pc.
The hard drive has mostly games on it (Windows on the old pc was on a ssd) So im wondering do i just delete all the files from the harddrive and then move it over?

Solution
Any installed programs (non-steam games/applications) would not work and would need to be reinstalled (remove them from the drive BEFORE moving it), but any data files (documents, music, movies, downloads) should still be accessible. There's no reason to wipe the drive completely if it's just a storage drive.

if the old drive only has files on it that have nothing to do with your operating system you shouldn't have to delete anything to get it to work right. but you can connect it as a secondary drive and copy whatever files from it you need to your new computers HDD and format it after that if you wish

Noted, what is the best way to wipe the drive, just deleting the folders?

Best way to wipe the drive is during a format. You can do this from Disk Management or during Windows installation if you haven't installed it yet.

Just make sure you're working with the correct drive before clicking OK to Format.
