Why is my keyboard and mouse suddenly stop working?

When I was doing regular tasks during the middle of using PC, they both suddenly stopped working. I have to switch to other USB slots in order to make them work every time. Is it due to the low battery of my motherboard?

Maybe one of them is defective. If you are connecting both to nearby connector pairs, the ports may be on the same over-current protection circuit or USB hub and when one device freaks out, it takes out the other. Try plugging them into two completely unrelated ports and see if that causes only one of them to fail.

I solve the problem by plugging them into two different nearby USB ports every time. I don't want to change USB ports every time. Can anyone help me?
