The hdd was previously in a laptop. I took it out when it wouldn't boot up nor respond.
I tried it out on two other laptops and it was same issue. Windows explorer couldn't see it. But I did find it in disk management and device manger.
Am trying to see if I can fix it using check disk from command prompt. Thanks

Hi

Try running western digital data lifeguard for windows to test the problem hard disk
If it is physically faulty no point in trying chkdsk

Wd will run on other brands of drive
If a seagate disk use the seagate equivalent

If no hardware faults then testdisk from cg security org may fix errors in partition configuration

If drive does not have a letter assigned you wont get chkdsk to run
