Computer not booting in normal mode, safe/networking works. BSOD flashes.

Hi there, a couple days ago I was playing a game and my computer froze. Upon restart the computer went to windows loading screen and flashed BSOD and then reset.

I have tried cleaning the computer to my best ability. I have done a clean install of gpu drivers, and tried downgrading. Ran virus protection, but nothing was found. Unchecked boot services and startups (excluding microsoft services) and that didn't work either. Fans seem to be running on the GPU, lights are on.

BSOD:

Bug Check Code: 0X00000116

Caused by driver: dxgkrnl.sys

caused by adress: dxgkrnl.sys+5d388

file description: DirectX Graphics Kernel

Product Name: Microsoft Windows OS

Windows 7

intel core i7-3770cpu 3.4ghz

mobo Asus P8Z77-V Pro

gpu Nvidia GeForce GTX 560

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

- make sure you install the motherboard sound driver from the motherboard vendors website.
- make sure you have installed the windows 7 service pack 1 +updates

( I assume you have already update the graphics drivers)
-be sure to remove any CPU and GPU overclocking driver.
- you should also update or reset the BIOS to defaults and reconfigure. It will force the bios to rescan your hardware and reassign hard ware resources and send a updated database of setting to windows.

thanks for the quick response. I only got as far as reinstalling audio drivers and restarting to bios. I noticed in Bios that my CPU Fan RPM is 550-600. put bios to default and restarted now its giving me a CPU FAN ERROR. Not sure if I just had it ignore the RPM before or if thats an unusual speed. Thoughts?

check the cpu fan connection and make sure the fan is spinning up. blow out any dust from the fan.
do the same for the other fans in the system (GPU and PSU)

fans all spinning. I have a friend that has the same set up as I do who's going to check to see what his RPM is when he can. Same problem still persists though. Haven't been able to update BIOS yet, my automated ASUS MANAGER keeps telling me that everything is up to date.
