I was trying to upgrade my old 8gb ram into my friends computer but when i went to start it up it wouldnt get past dell loading screen. It would stop about 30 percent of the way through. I checked specs for mother board and they mach for the ram. The old difference from the old ram other than the gb is the voltage was 1.35 in the old and 1.5 in the new. When i reinstalled the old ram it started right back up.

"How do i get bios recognize the hardware change if the ram is compatible?"

But that's just the point, it looks like it's not compatible, it most likely needs 1.35v RAM (low voltage or "L" designation in the product description (eg DDR2L, DDR3L).

BIOS won't help if 1.5v RAM isn't supported by the motherboard.
It may be a voltage issue as you've noticed. You can see if the voltage can be increased for your RAM through the BIOS settings but if not, you may be stuck if the sticks won't operate at the lower value. Are you sue the sticks are still good? You run a Mem test?

Its a Dell 0C2KJT motherboard. The site says it can support up to 16gb 1333mhz ram. It currently has 6gb (2gbx3)1333mhz 1.35v ram and im trying to upgrade it to Hyperx Fury 8gb (4gbx2) 1333mhz 1.5v ram. How do i get bios recognize the hardware change if the ram is compatible?
