So I was just browsing youtube the other day and all of a sudden the screen went gray with black stripes (the color varies from crash to crash) I couldn’t access task manager or escape the program so I had to hard reset. As days went on, these stripe crashes kept happening until more and more and today the system would not stay on the desktop for more than 20 seconds. Spending 8 hours addressing the issue, I used DDU to uninstall the drivers with the graphics card pulled and experimented with several versions, but they wouldn’t install. The graphics card works fine in another system (w/o drivers) and the psu is not an issue. I did a BIOS update which didn’t fix anything, and a windows update that just bricked the system again.

Graphics
Radeon R9 270

Proc
Intel Core i5 4690k

Mobo
ASUS V97-A

Well then it has to be the graphics card i'm sorry to say. All the visual artefacts you describe and the failure to operate in another system is indicative of GPU failure, can't say what exactly but it's irreparable.

Sorry about the random post I don’t know how to reply. The graphics card worked in another windows 10 system, but when I went to install drivers I got a black screen when it started installing the video ones.
