Ryzen 1600x advice

I am currently running a amd 8350 16gb ddr3 nvidia gtx 1070
I am thinking of upgrading my pc to ryzen 1600x i use dolphin pcsx2 and a few other emulators.
I am in too minds as i don't know how much of an increase in fps i will get if anyone has upgraded or any advice would be helpful thanks.

Hey, I had this dilemma on release of Ryzen, I jump to the Ryzen and would not look back. Its so much smoother, the performance increase was insane, so much so as soon as new Ryzen out Ill be jumping into 8 core/16 threads instead! Your CPU is also a major bottleneck for 1070. Make the move but wait for the new Ryzen due very soon!

If I were you I would hold off an upgrade for a couple of weeks. The AMD Zen + 2000 series chips will be releasing at the end of the month. Potentially, they should offer a modest boost to the 1000 series Ryzen CPUs.

Overall the new Ryzen CPUs are significantly faster than the 8350. It would be a big jump in performance.
