Any way to change a HDD from bootable to normal, and keep all the data?

I'm about to upgrade my PC with a new MB, CPU, Memory and I'll also be getting an SSD to install Windows on.
I'd like to keep all the data on my original drive and keep using it (and all the data thereon), but make it not show as a bootable drive.
Is this possible?

If you put the drive in your new system, you will be able to access all the data on it (or at least that is my experience with it). When your PC boots, make sure that the ssd is first in the boot order.

Depends on what you mean by "all the data".

Your personal files that live on it, sure. Sort of a pain, but they're there.
The applications on it? No. The new OS on the SSD will know nothing about those programs and applications.
