Need some parts for a good budget gaming PC

I’m going to put new parts in a old desktop (Dell Inspiron 518) to make a budget build. My budget is under $250 or $200. I want to play games that are kind of graphically demanding (like Fortnite for example). I recently got a new PSU and hard drive for it. I have already decided since this is a buget build I should buy AMD Ryzen 5 2400g so I can skip the GPU and get a new CPU at the same time.

What I have now:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4 GB
GPU: Nvidia GT 610
The motherboard that was built in I don’t know what it’s called
PSU: Green Tech GTPS-650 ATX
HDD: Segate 1 TB

What I want to add or replace

APU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400g
Memory: 4 more GB (total of 8)
Motherboard: Any Am4 socket motherboard that is decent for gaming and under $100

I’m not 100 percent sure of what I need or don’t need as this is my first time doing this sort of thing. If I need or don’t need anything else please tell me ASAP as I am really confused by what I should get.

Your old RAM is pretty much useless.
Ryzen and AM4 motherboards need DDR4 RAM. I'm pretty sure your current RAM isn't DDR4.

Next up, the motherboard will most probably require a bios update in order to even be able to boot with the 2400G. By default they only support the old Ryzen chips. Unless the board was produced recently, it will most likely need a bios update.
Unfortunately, you need a first generation Ryzen to actually update the bios.

Check with the store beforehand if the board can boot with the 2400G or not. Also see if they offer some sort of bios update service.

Other than that, you should be fine with everything else.
