Realtek HD Audio Manager empty + other sound related issues

Hey everyone,

I'm posting this after hours of looking online to find a solution to my problem and trying and trying again to no avail.

My sound and audio used to work perfectly, but then yesterday, when I tried to talk on Discord, I noticed my Discord stopped detecting my microphone. I then looked on solutions online, which made me find out something quite alarming: my playback and recording devices are completely gone from the "Sound" window (Link 1) (both "Show disabled devices" and "Show disconnected devices" are checked).
Also, my Realtek HD Audio Manager window is completely empty(Link 2).
So, I looked online and found that I should try reinstalling my realtek drivers. I did, and I carefully selected the driver for my specific motherboard, and then something worse happened: My sound was gone. There wasn't even any coming from my pc (no green bar in the sound window). Plus, Spotify didn't want to play songs and I tried opening an mp3 file I have on my pc and it said I hard an error with my sound card....
I continued looking for answers online, and trying little tricks here and there, and then I restarted it today and my sound was somehow back. I have no clue how I fixed that.
And, for some reason, I have LOADS of outputs to choose from now and I don't know why (Link 3).

SPECS:
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97x-Gaming 5

Additional info:
- I recently acquired a second monitor which made me connect my main monitor via HDMI to make it work (haven't tried my microphone since this change, so I can't know for sure if that's what's causing the problem)
- I checked in the Device Manager, and everything seems fine. (Link 4)

Thank you for your answers, and if there's any additional information you need, please let me know.

It appears you don't know how to manage multiple audio devices. You current audio device is the HDMI output of an NVidia video card.

You also don't appear to have installed the motherboard audio drivers.

Creative SB X-Fi driver
(Note) Please install Realtek audio driver first before install this driver

Hi,
I have a folder named "Drivers" that I created when I built my pc, which contains both the realtek driver and the creative SB one. I still tried to go on the Gigabyte website to download their latest versions.
That did not work. I did a system restore yesterday (before trying to download the drivers) and the plethora of sound outputs to choose from was gone. Things were back to normal on this side.
So I tried to reinstall the drivers today after reading your post, and I noticed that it's by installing the driver that I get all these outputs.
Anyway, like I said, it didn't work, and it actually killed my audio (gave me the same problem as I listed in my original post, the one that mysteriously went away). I tried selecting all the outputs one by one, and none of them worked.

Thank you for your reply, it's very appreciated.
