Motherboard LAN not achieving internet speeds it should

Hello folks,

I have a bit of a strange situation and I need your help.

Today, I upgraded to 350 Mb broadband with Virgin Media and installed and setup the new router (Hub V3). All going well until I try and use the internet with my main desktop PC using the onboard LAN connection (Brand new Asus X370-Pro Motherboard with Ryzen 1800x).

The problem is that I get a connection, sort of, but when it comes to load a website, it either takes ages to load the website, or the webpage doesn't load at all.

Using this same ethernet cable (cat 5e) on my laptop and the speeds are fine, but if I plug back into my main desktop PC and the same issue happens again.

I've also tested the laptop with another ethernet cable and it works fine, although I'm not able to test with another ethernet cable on my main PC since I'm not in a position to try currently.

If someone could provide some advice that would be tremendous.

Thanks,
Adam

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your onboard LAN.
Check your Ethernet adapter 'Speed & Duplex' settings. It should be set to 'Auto negotiation' or '1.0Gbps'
or
Disable and re-enable the device Ethernet adapter.
or
Open Command Prompt as Admin and type “netsh int ip reset” and hit the Enter key. Wait for the TCP/IP to reset. Restart your computer.

Thanks for responding.

Turns out the Ethernet cable I was using was on its last legs.

Moved my room around and tried another ethernet and it worked fine.

Appreciate your input though, jojesa!

Cheers,
Adam
