Mobo: Gigabyte Z170 gaming k3
Gpu: Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb
Ram: 8gb (2x4) Vengeance ddr4
Cpu: Intel core i5 6600k
Psu: Corsair rm650x
Monitor: benq xl2411

First off, allow me to apologise for the horrible formatting, I am using the mobile site to submit this.

So to start, this build is less than a year old, today as I was powering it up, flicking the switch at the wall socket first and then at the back of the psu, I hear a loud pop, I wait a moment and then power the pc, it starts fine but then as I open my browser to investigate what causes the pop I get a green screen, the pc doesn't crash it just greens.
I restart and try boot in safe mode, which doesn't work and I hear 3 quick beeps from my mobo, after checking in the manual this is a "basic memory 64k address check error". This indicates that it is a ram or motherboard error.
I leave the pc idle and freak out for a bit.
Reboot again in normal mode and leave it to idle on the desktop to see if anything happens. After a few minutes I get a white screen with flickers and I just turn it off again.
From what I have read I cannot discern wether this is a faulty power supply, graphics card, ram, motherboard, cpu or all of the above. Or indeed what may have caused this 'pop' in the first place, and how to prevent it.
What gets me is that I am afraid to remove the graphics card and troubleshoot as I fear that flicking the power switch may cause further damage to my components. Does anybody have any inclination as to what this most likely is? I do not gave a second rig to test with so I'm pretty screwed here.
And also, just now as I'm typing this, my pc just started up out of nowhere.
This is bizarre to me and given today's market I am hoping this could just be a single component like psu or ram.
Thank you anybody who may offer me some solutions or suggestions on how to proceed.
Plz help

Time to change that PSU.
Anything that makes a pop sound coming from the PSU cannot be good.

When you deal with electronics, even the best possible PSU *could* pop in a year. It happens as there are always variances in the quality of components. Get that PSU checked out and then send it back for a warranty claim if it is indeed faulty.

What they said. Popping from a PSU shouldn't be happening. If that happens, you've got a problem. You probably have a bad capacitor in it or something like that. Unplug the PC and get the PSU sent right back. Try a 550w PSU and see if that works. You might be giving the internal capacitors too much power to hold and need a smaller-capacity PSU.
