Purchased a very clean ASUS K53SV Notebook which has i7 2nd generation processor which is still working well. Had a total crash of the hard drive which wiped out everything, and taught me some things along the way. What I want to do I understand can be thwarted by what can be done in reality. Would like to move up to i7 7th generation processor/s not sure if I got numbers right 7920, with a Nvidia graphic's/video card, can use hard drive which is in it with Windows 10 Pro onboard and if necessary, because of space for this notebook has a 15.6 screen, but use a 24 inch external monitor as main screen. Since I'll be updating this would like to put SSD with the segate I am using as a mass storage device, it's 1TB in size. Don't have all the numbers which I can offer you as I've seen listed in some of the questions I've read, but know it's Intel processor, on a two sided single mother board, with dvd player, which if it needs to go I can get an external one which works fine. There is it and I hope the question makes sense, and thank you in advance for your help.

the issue is that motherboard size and i/o positions are not standardized. I doubt it’s going to be compatible. Usually we suggest just upgrade the cpu/ram to the highest sku spec. Without touching anything on the motherboard.
