My computer shows more space than what is in my life Hard Disk

My Computer has 320gb hard disk, but my Local Disk C and D together had space 500gb. First I didn't notice it but when I changed my OS my computer has only 280gb and my Local D is missing. I don't know what to do ,So please help Me.

What OS and how did you change it ? If windows, look in Disk Management.

I had Win 7 and I changed it to Linux then I once more installed Win 7 and now my Local disk D is Missing. I checked Disk Management it is not there . I recovered my files using Partition Guru. Please guys help me.

My guess is that Windows are not recognizing (former) Linux partition. I have a HDD with Linux Mint and windows don't even know it's there.

Does it show in Partition Guru ? You could convert it to NTFS, or maybe some other program like: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/partmgr.html
