Hi I just moved into my first house, and don't know much about networking, but I know the absolute basics.

I'm having trouble finding the location where the cable that you will be using come in to the house, but I have found the cable that will be used for the cable TV service that I'll be using: however have yet to find where the networking pedal or whatever it's called is located. If it helps the whole house is wired up with cat E5 ethernet Jacks with at least one in every room.

If there are ethernet jacks in every room, then those cables HAVE to go to a central location. Usually a basement or closet. You need to find that location. There could be a metal cover about 18inches square in a wall somewhere.
