For about a year now I have been using this pc with an i7700k cpu and recently the temps have been weird, While idle or just on discord or google the pc will be about 35c but when I play overwatch or the cpu will hit 80c for a few seconds then it sits around 77c max and I cannot figure out why. I'm running it off of a corsair h100i v2 and I feel like I should not see temps this high. Anyone have any answers? Thank you for your time.

I would start by checking to see if the radiator fans are working, then make sure the pump is operating normally, you should feel steady vibrations on the lines as fluid passes through.

Next I would try and reapply new thermal paste, Noctua NT-H1, Arctic Silver 5 ,MX 4 etc. Anything high quality and see if that works. Besides that the only thing you could do is delid the CPU and apply either new thermal compound or liquid metal.

maybe you need to clean your rig if there any dust or dirt on it. also you can check and reapply your thermal paste and cooler to make sure there's no problem with it

Definitely doesn't seem right, mine idles at like 32c and hardly ever cracks 60c while gaming or anything else for that matter. I run an h115I fro corsair, it's a great aio. Check to see if your pump is working, try to monitor it while you are having these spikes. It's possible you have an air bubble somewhere in there as well that may be causing your problems. Check to see that your block is properly installed and that all cables are properly connected
