Recently bought a GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H LGA1151 Intel Micro ATX DDR4 Motherboard and an Intel i5 7500 and my comp won't start up. It powers on, fans spin, somewhat makes a beep and then dies and starts over. The monitor never even budges.

I've unplugged everything but the CPU fan and the PSU connections. The PSU works fine on my old motherboard. I've tried removing the BIOS battery for 20 min but Im not sure what good that'll do if I cant even see the boot menu. I believe I cleared the cmos by shortening it. Does that really work if the PSU has no power running into it?

The only issue I can think of is before I put the proper socket I5 in I had a wrong socket I5 that I tried to put in and one of the pins on the motherboard was kinda bent. not horribly, and didnt feel off from the others but I can see it cause the light doesn't bounce off it like the others.

MotherBoard: GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H LGA1151 Intel Micro ATX DDR4
Chip: I5 7500
PSU: M12II Bronze EVO 750w

Solution
1. Yes you did clear the CMOS correctly.
2. Did you make an effort to straighten out the bent pin as best you could?
3. Have you tried booting with just 1 stick of RAM?

Yah, Thanx for the suggestion! After giving it a nights rest and after reading your comment I was going to take pictures of the motherboard for better idea of what im working with but Before I did I tried putting one ram stick in.

It booted as it did yesterday and failed and then it tried to boot itself and on the second attempt the monitor flicked on! One by one I put a part in and tested and all is working fine which leaves me with a couple questions to so I can better understand what happened here.

For one I'm not sure if the one ram stick is what kicked it into working as all my parts had been properlly working before (The motherboard will still boot with no ram inserted or at least an error message on the screen, right?). Only the motherboard and chip were new, Is it possible because my PSU has never Connected to this Motherboard that I had to let it sit connected to the motherboard to , i dont know, seep energy into? i know that sounds weird but do PSU's supply energy even when its off?

The power supply should work right away, first boot, but the RAM can be a problem. That's why motherboard makers provide a Memory Support List. Since you just bought this board recently, the main thing to do is make sure you have all your drivers up to date. One of the reasons the latest BIOS update for your motherboard was issued is to "Improved DRAM stability".

To help me better understand why My comp wasn't working one day but booted up the next... Did putting one ram stick in help kickstart it as opposed to two or none?

I really appreciate you replying back! thanx! also to mark this thread as solved Do i click one of your answers as the solution or is there another way to tag this as solved.

I can't be sure why your computer was not booting, but using 1 stick or RAM instead of 2 is one of the things to try if any PC will not boot.
