How do I safely overclock my CPU to reduce a slight bottleneck?

So I'm getting a slight CPU bottleneck, and was suggested to try overclocking my CPU. The bottleneck really isn't that bad but I really want to take advantage of my new GPU. I have my GPU overclocked but I have no idea how to do it for my CPU, and don't know anything about what settings are safe and how much I should overclock. Like I said the bottleneck isn't that bad so I only want to slightly overclock my CPU, I don't think I really need to max it out, plus I'm only using the fan that came with my CPU, I have no special coolers or anything so I don't want to fry my CPU. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my specs:

CPU: i5 6500 @ 3.20 ghz
Motherboard: Asus Z-170 pro
GPU: MSI Gtx 1070 ti
RAM: 32 gb DDR4
PSU: evga 700b (700 watts bronze)

Your CPU is locked, so increasing its multiplier (the most common method of overclocking) will not be available to you. You may be able to increase BCLK slightly, but as that affects buss speeds too, you probably won't be able to increase it very much before something in your system becomes unstable.

Oh okay :(, so I am pretty much stuck with what I have until I can upgrade my CPU? And I take it it's not really worth it to increase BCLK?

I looked at my CPU/GPU usage and it says that my GPU is running around 70% usage and my CPU around 96%-100%. Then I checked a bottleneck calculator and it said I have an 18% bottleneck, it says anything above 10% will affect performance. In Far Cry 5 I am getting anywhere between 60-100 FPS from my system with a GPU overclock.

So it says your system has an "18% bottleneck".

yes lmao I don't really know much about this stuff but I just looked it up and people say it's not reliable at all.

Oh wow lol thanks for pointing that out. What about my cpu/gpu usage? Is that a problem or no?
