Should I upgrade or build a new PC?

Hi,

I would like to run most modern games at a decent fps with decent graphics (if possible). However I don't know too much about upgrading or building gaming pc's as of right now. I would like to know if I can upgrade my current pc, and what I could upgrade so I can play decent games on my pc. Any help would be appreciated.

My current PC is a HP Pavilion 550-111na, the specs are here (https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04804119).

I would prefer doing the option that would save me more money, so if upgrading my pc would be better value for my money instead of building a new gaming pc, I would rather upgrade then.

Thanks.

Frankly, your upgrade path is rather restricted. you motherboard only supports certain CPUs(APUs actually), your PSU is a limiting factor in getting a graphics card, and your case, being a microATX, would be tight to work in.

Any upgrades would require a new PSU to start, and other upgrades(CPU and GPU) would provide only minimal performance upgrades.

IMHO, it is never cost effective to upgrade a pre-built system. I would recommend a new build, saving as necessary instead of pouring more good money into an obsolete system.

My budget is around £300 - £400 around there, it can be increased tho. I’m not too sure on what a decent budget for an upgrade would be tbh.

And I plan to run games like Rust, Fortnite, Pubg, R6, etc
