Hello ,
I just recently bought samsung 960evo nvme drive. After running benchmark from crystalmark , atto diskmark , samsung benchmark , all return same result which is only 1700mbps read and 1400mbps write.
After opening the samsung magician tools , it shows me that the nvme drive is running on Pcie Gen. 3 X2 only. this might be the problem.

i'm using Asus Z170-k mainboard which supports M.2 x4 up to 32gbps . why does it shows only x2 and not x4. is there any setting on bios will effects the pcie lanes on my M.2 ?

for your info i have asus strix gtx 1060 6gb installed on my first pcie x16 slot , and wifi adapter on first pcie 1x slot. plus i'm not connecting any single drive except the nvme itself.

Solution
i try fresh install of windows , remove all the pcie hardware , remove all except 1 ram , reset bios , change all the bios setting , but it all end-up same results.

Finally , after 2 , 3 time re-seating the m.2 to proper high and slot-in / seat-in the socket properly i'm able to get the full speed 3gbps read as advertised. and samsung magician shows x4 now...

problem solved :)
